Cortland Dominates TCNJ 30-7 for third straight win
October 31, 2009. The SUNY Cortland Red Dragons dominated the TCNJ Lions 30-7 Saturday. The Red Dragons limited one of the NJAC's most explosive offenses to only 190 yards total offense.
Cortland out-rushed TCNJ 207 yards to 76 yards. Dom Sair led the way with 85 yards on 19 carries, while freshman Justin Autera had 67 yards on only five carries. Alex Smith threw two touchdown passes, and Anthony Giuliano threw a touchdown pass to Bill Smith and caught a touchdown pass from Alex Smith.
Punter Kyle Peterson had a 67-yard punt for Cortland and averaged 40.9 yards per punt on the day. Marc Corrado boomed a 40-yard field goal and was perfect on three extra point attempts.
Evan Wyler made eight tackles, four for losses, and added a sack. Brian Wiley had a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered two fumbles. Joe Lopez intercepted a pass, and the Red Dragons limited TCNJ to only 114 yards passing.
Cortland is now 6-2 overall and in the NJAC. TCNJ falls to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in the NJAC.
